Brenda Marie Smith
Winner of the 2018 SFK Press Novel Contest, Brenda Marie Smith lived off the grid for many years in a collective community. A feisty grandmother herself, full of love and generosity, Brenda is attracted to stories that take everyday characters, place them in extreme situations, and show how they can transcend their own limitations to invoke their innate heroism. Brenda, a longtime community activist, lives on the grid in a solar-powered home in South Austin and has more grandkids than she can count.
